About the National Bicycle Service Technician Program

Have you completed on-line training or attended hands-on industry training in the Bicycle Repair Field. Are you looking to become a Certified Bicycle Service Technician. The National Bicycle Service Technician Program (NBSTP) is a voluntary, industry-leading initiative designed to monitor, elevate, and provide a road map to develop your skills as a bicycle mechanic.  The National Bicycle Service Technician Program (NBSTP) offers two paths to receiving accreditation 1) Dept. Of Labor Apprentice Program; 2) Prior completed Training

What We Offer

  • Structured Accreditation Path: Achieve certification at three levels—Mechanic, Technician, and Master Technician—through a blend of hands-on and online training, with no formal trade schooling required.
  • Comprehensive Skills Development and a Career Progression Outline: That covers everything from basic bike anatomy to advanced techniques like e-bike repair, suspension tuning, bicycle fitting and even frame building. The National Bicycle Service Technician Program (NBSTP) certification will rip though that “Paper Ceiling”
  • Flexible Training Options: Choose from a variety of qualifying courses offered by trusted providers like the Appalachian Bicycle Institute, United Bicycle Institute, and community colleges, or leverage prior experience for grandfathered accreditation.
  • Continuous Learning: Maintain your skills with 750 points of annual Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from online sources and 16 hours of in-person training to stay current with industry advancements.
